According to data released by the US Department of Labor (DOL) on Thursday, there were 225,000 initial jobless claims for the week ending September 28. This figure is an increase from the previous week's revised total of 219,000 (originally reported as 218,000) and slightly above market expectations of 220,000.
The report also indicated that the advance seasonally adjusted insured unemployment rate stood at 1.2%, while the 4-week moving average decreased by 750 to reach 224,250 from the previous week's revised average.
Additionally, the DOL noted, "The advance number for seasonally adjusted insured unemployment during the week ending September 21 was 1,826,000, a decrease of 1,000 from the previous week's revised level."
In response to these figures, the US Dollar did not show any immediate movement. At the time of writing, the USD Index was up 0.3% for the day, reaching 101.90.
